7 Days Of DIY Christmas Decorations: Newspaper Christmas Trees!

Newspaper Christmas Trees!

For the fourth day of DIY Christmas decorations we will make Christmas decorations out of newspapers!

To create this decoration, you will need…

Pipe cleaners (brown if you want it to look like the trunk of the tree.)
Old newspapers
Scissors
Pen or pencil

  1. Cut the pipe cleaners to the size you want the height of your tree to be.

2. Take your pen/pencil and draw a square shape on the newspaper for the base of the tree. (This should be the biggest square on the tree.)

3. Cut out as many more squares as you think you will need depending on the height of your tree. Make sure some squares are bigger and smaller than others so that the tree will gradually get smaller closer to the top.

4. Poke the pipe cleaner through the biggest square first and then fold it up to make the trunk of the tree.

5. Continue poking the pipe cleaner through the squares of paper starting from biggest to smallest to create the tree shape.

6. When you are finished, fold up the top of the pipe cleaner to keep the paper from falling off and to make the star on the top of the tree. You can decorate the tree with ribbons, glitter, etc.. if you want to.

7 Days Of Christmas Decorations!

Glitter Christmas Branches!

For day two of Christmas Decorations week we will be creating Glitter Christmas Branches!

You will need…
paint (red,green,gold…)
a paint brush
Christmas colored glitter
tree branches of many different sizes
scissors

  1. Cut the branches to the size and height that you want.

  1. Paint one side of the branches the color that you chose.

  1. Sprinkle the glitter over the wet paint so that it sticks and you can still see a little bit of the paint showing through. (If the glitter won’t stick to the paint you can use liquid white glue.)

  1. Wait for the paint to dry and then flip the branches over and paint the other sides.

  1. Repeat step 3 for the other side of the branches and wait for them to dry.

And now you have your Christmas branches!
Place how you want in vases, flower pots, wreaths…

Branch Christmas Tree

Hello! For our first week of posts on our blog, we will be making Christmas decorations! It’s getting very close to that time of year again, and what better way to spice up your home for the holidays than a little DIY decorating! Today,we will start off our very first week with a homemade branch Christmas tree.

  • You will need:
  • branches of various sizes
  • hot-glue gun
  • Christmas tree (or any shaped) cookie cutter or shaped box
  • saw or branch clippers (anything that will give you a clean cut)

  1. Start cutting your tree branches at your desired length. (Mine were about 4cm/2in)
  2. When you think you have enough pieces of wood, begin placing and gluing them together in your cookie cutter or shape.
  3. Let your finished product dry, then paint, decorate and place it however you want!

Feel free to send us your finished products and subscribe to be notified when we make a new post!
